Her Family This Side of The Pond

Hulda had sisters; Gerta, Svea, Ruth, Ava (died 1922), Hildur and brothers; Johan, Karl & ? Those that crossed the ocean initially settled in Winnipeg, Canada.

Gerta married Carl Swanson and they had two children; Vera Swanson Brookhauzen (from Carl's first marriage) and Blanche. They lived in the Chicago area for many years. Vera had four children; Vivian, Peter, Paul, and MaryAnn. Blanche married a printer and they also took up residence somewhere in the Chicago area.

Svea gave birth to a daughter named Bernice who in turn had several children of her own.

Hulda's sister Ruth had a daughter Irene (m. Warren Dodd) who lived in Willowdale, Ontario.

A cousin we haven't placed yet who wrote regularly to our Aunt Bernice (another Bernice) was named Elsie. And somewhere in Canada there is another cousin Curtis, who was a hockey player.
